We are quickly approaching the 2016 Etchells World Championships with Race Day One on September 5th. David Franks, Etchells International Governor and Cowes Fleet Captain has been long preparing for this event and it is setting up to be spectacular. Nearly 60 teams from 11 nations will be competing for the title of Etchells World Champion 2016.The Royal London Yacht Club has gone all out to make this a magnificent regatta.
The Etchells Class is a strict one design Class and all boats are subject to close measurement at all regattas. Chief Measurer, Bill Abbott will be on hand at the 2016 Worlds with his templates, measuring tapes and scales to assure to all competitors that all boats competing measure in. Clarifying measurements (note below) were included in the One Design Measurement controls in the Class builders’ specifications. All boats produced by our three excellent builders conform to these specifications. Also being introduced to all owners (or, in event of a hull being chartered, the skipper) is a signed declaration that the boat is in compliance with all Etchells class rules.

Hull/Keel Leading Edge Profile Template (to fit within -3/+5mm).
Hull/Keel Trailing Edge maximum of 122mm forward of Sta 6 (-16/+16mm).
Hull/Skeg fillet radius minimum of 6mm (at 100mm forward of rudder shaft).
Hull/Transom corner to be rounded with a minimum radius of 1mm.
Declaration prior to measurement:
To be filled in by the Owner (or, in the event of a hull being chartered, the Skipper)
I hereby declare and confirm that I know of no reason why hull # _________________ and her spars and sails being used in this event are not in compliance with all International Etchells class rules. I also hereby declare and confirm that the hull appendages, hull shell, deck, bulkheads, floorboards and thwart, including any item recorded on the hull certificate, have not been altered in any way except as permitted under all International Etchells class rules. Finally, I hereby declare and confirm that the keel, hull shell, deck, bulkheads, floorboards and thwart have not been altered since the date of the boat’s current hull certificate (other than, if applicable, installation of a bow ring in compliance with all International Etchells class rules).
