Changes to the Class Rules approved by World Sailing

Class Rules
As adopted by the Etchells Class members in December, 2018, the following changes to the Etchells Class Rules have now been approved by World Sailing. The updated rules are effective 8 Novmber, 2019.
F.6.1 STANDING RIGGING – MATERIALS
The standing rigging shall be of stainless steel or rope.
F.6.2(a)(4) STANDING RIGGING - CONSTRUCTION – MANDATORY
A backstay pennant of 7x19 wire or equivalent rope.

When attached to the upper Backstay Rigging Point, the lower end of the 1x19 wire backstay shall be not less than 200mm below the Mast Datum Point when pulled taut along the mast with 5 kg tension.
F.7.4 RUNNING RIGGING – DIMENSIONS
Main halyard rope - minimum 4mm
Headsail halyard rope - minimum 4.8mm
Spinnaker halyard rope - minimum 4.8mm
